Fresh off the press: This is the story of Terrabiom’s work of regeneration over 365 days under the sign of soil health, local biodiversity and biocultural heritage. 2022 was the year of “our first harvest”. As we’re looking back and reflecting, we are excited to share our milestones, achievements and lessons with you in this way.

All life on land starts from, and returns back to, the soil. Principle of ecological succession

We launched our first larger field pilot in Alentejo, Portugal; published our first landmark compilation “why the world needs soil regeneration”; and strengthened our entrepreneurial impact case as we joined the pioneering Social Impact Program by the inaugural embaX - Europe’s most relevant executive MBA. That was just the spring.

We slowed down over summer, leaving space for emergence. This brought us to the arts & culture, which led to the co-creation of our first Soil X Art living lab. In fall, highlights included our invitation to link soil life to gourmet food at Soil to Soul, Switzerland’s largest food festival, or our Soil X Art X Science workshop at the annual SCnat Sustainability Science forum.

Throughout, we continued to steward our core topics of soil health, local biodiversity and biocultural heritage in anything we do.

Below the visible action, we made sure to dig deep and do our root work, continuing to develop our organisational culture and strategy. We refined our internal collaboration and were excited to welcome a driven woman to our core tribe. Welcome again, Alice, it’s so great to have you with us.

Like microbial communities in the soil, we are resilient and stronger when we are connected and collaborating. This is why we particularly appreciate our ever growing regenerative mycelium of partners. In 2022, we got to co-create with embaX, the World Ethic Forum, Soil to Soul or the Zurich University of the Arts this year, to name a few.

Thank you

Behind Terrabiom, there is a growing community of amazing people who support the vision of a world which is re:connected with the cycles of nature, where we embrace life's diversity and thrive in regenerative communities. Terrabiom would not be what it is today without the trust and active contribution of these individuals, organisations and institutions. Nor could we miss the contribution of all the living beings, visible and invisible, who we get to share, exchange and co-create with, every single day. Before anything else, we want to express our gratitude and appreciation to you. Thank you for your inputs, feedback, partnership, kind words and financial support. Thank you for believing in us. And thank you for joining us on this journey to regenerate soils, communities and ecosystems.

Much love, Team Terrabiom
